Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer Review

I went to replace my foundation and found the Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer which has a very nice packaging - an opaque bottle with a pump. The claims on the bottle sounded very good and it was N4,000! Not bad at all. I really wanted to try it and even though I have never patronised this brand, at that price I thought it was worth it to give it a try.

Original Milani foundation from Nigeria

The lady at the shop where I bought it let me swatch different colours to determine which matched best and in the end 11 Amber seemed to blend in perfectly with the back of my hand. The bottle has a PIN that you can scratch to reveal. When you text that PIN to 38353 you get a message that confirms if you are buying the original Milani foundation. I think this is available specifically for the Nigerian market to protect customers from buying fakes. I didn't realise this until I left the store and examined the bottle so in case the shop assistant doesn't tell you, now you know!

One pump of the foundation gives medium coverage but with about two pumps you can build to full coverage. I have a couple of spots on my face and it covers them fairly well so for those who really want coverage, this is not a bad foundation. It has a dewy finish which I don't care for because I have an oily T-zone. I would prefer a matte foundation but I won't pass on this foundation just because of that.

What Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer looks like

What I don't like about the foundation is that it seems to just sit on the skin especially my T-zone. It would definitely be best to wear it with a translucent setting powder to fix this. I'm still deciding which one to get and will be back with a review when I do ;)

Although it's the perfect match for me from the range of shades, it gives me a reddish/orangey tone while I would prefer a more golden or yellow tone to match my skin's undertone. I intend to film a vlog wearing this foundation to demonstrate how it holds up throughout the day so stay tuned for that if you're interested. In the meantime, if you have oily skin what are your tricks for helping your foundation stay on throughout the day?

  1. I use this foundation (well I'm still on my first bottle) and I like it.
As you said, it gives great coverage but has a dewy finish as opposed to a matte finish which I would have preferred (team oily T zone).
I also like that it does not start to look weird when you sweat.
I would definitely repurchase till I find something better.

  2. Great review! Always wanted to try this foundation but I don't think it will work for the hot, humid weather in my country. x

  3. I heard great things about this foundation and would love to try. I'll probably have to order online which is tricky since I cant swatch different shades to find a perfect match, but at that price, it won't matter too much if I don't find the right one.

Thanks for a great review ;)
