Review: Bobbi Brown Skin Stick Foundation

This review has been a long time coming. My work took me to Abuja and I decided to visit the Bobbi Brown shop. I believe this is currently the only Bobbi Brown store in Nigeria so I made sure to stop there while I was in town. I’m always open to discovering a new foundation so I asked a few questions about the ones they had to offer and decided to get this one. It caught my attention because it’s supposed to look exactly like your skin no matter how you apply it.  How cool is that?

This is a full-coverage stick foundation that comes in a small black cylindrical case. I love how portable it is. It’s compact enough to go in small bags. Also as it is not a liquid, it’s the best foundation to carry on you when you fly. It’s portable and can go through airport security! I got matched to Warm Almond 6.5.

Applying the foundation is a bit tricky. You can smear it on your face and use a flat top brush to blend it in. That’s really the best way to apply it. It is an oily foundation and even contains shea butter so you should set with a powder afterwards. Just as the name suggests it looks just like your skin. The downside of this foundation is that it’s not very long-lasting. You will literally look like you have no makeup on in 4 hours.

In conclusion, this is not a foundation to wear all day at work especially if you live in a hot and humid place like Lagos, Nigeria. I recommend this for an evening out which would be a few hours or for touch up when the plane is about to land. At N21,500, I will not be repurchasing because there are much cheaper alternatives. While I’m fascinated by the skin-like finish technology, the price is a turn off. What do you guys think?
