Review: Olay Quench Body Lotion
I’ve used Olay Quench
Body Lotion for years. My mum gave this to me when I was a teenager and for
me then, the best part of it was wearing body lotion with glitter in it. What
could be more perfect? I haven’t used the glitter version in years though.
This body lotion has a nice blend of vitamins – much more
than the average body lotion. It contains Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Tocopherol
(Vitamin E) and Panthenol (Vitamin B5). It also contains Petrolatum to seal in
moisture so it is not advisable to use on the face. I recently used the Advanced Healing version which is the
most hydrating and doesn’t contain fragrance making it suitable for sensitive
skin types. You get 600ml of a wonderful fast absorbing formula that spreads
easily. The packaging is great to preserve the ingredients and comes with a
pump and I love that you can open it when it’s almost finished to get the last
of the product out.
I never realised how truly hydrating this body lotion is
because I have used it for a long time. I recently had a bad period of very dry
and dull skin due to over exfoliating. It was so bad and uncomfortable. I was
looking into getting a Q10 body lotion to fix it. Somehow I was travelling
for work and realised at the last minute that I was almost out of body lotion
so my mum was kind enough to give me this one. In just one week my skin
transformed to soft and hydrated. My complexion was ruined by the previous “ashyness”,
I couldn’t believe the difference. This definitely repairs the skin’s moisture
barrier. If you have dry and sensitive skin, you won’t regret using this
lotion. It is also a wonderful option to use this during Harmattan period at the
end of the year.
If you are wondering, Olay can be used for fair or dark skin.
It does not lighten the skin and it is completely safe to use during pregnancy.
There are a variety of options in the range so you may have a hard time
deciding what Olay product is right for you. The formulas are quite similar but
usually have one unique ingredient. Ultra-Moisture
for example contains Shea Butter while Shimmer
contains Cocoa Butter and light-reflecting minerals that will make your skin
literally shimmer.
Pros
Extremely hydrating
Contains a good mix of vitamins
Good for all skin types including Sensitive Skin
Affordable
Cons
Contains Parabens
Olay Quench Body Lotion has become more expensive following
the recession. It can be found in most supermarkets in Nigeria but some
supermarkets are more reasonably priced than others. If you’re in doubt for the
price, I believe anything more than N5,000 is ridiculous. You can also buy it online here. If you have tried
this, let me know what you think or if not, what is your go-to body lotion for dry
skin/weather?

Wow! I didn't even know it came in a glittered version. I'm so glad I came across your post. I have extremely dry and sensitive skin and I am currently having to deal with my skin drying out from the summer heat. I will be picking some of this up when I go to the store today. Thanks for sharing.

I love this lotion as well and their soaps. I have a very select few products that I can use on my skin that doesn't cause me to itch and I'm glad Olay falls into the "can use" category as their products are awesome.
ReplyDeleteYes they have great products. I haven't tried any of the soaps yet
DeleteGood review. I am not a fan of their products, but my mom is and one my friends uses them. So every so often I indulge in their lotions and creams when I am over at their houses.
ReplyDeleteGreat review, my favorite happens to be Aveeno

Thanks! I always hear good things about Aveeno
DeleteI've never tried this body lotion either as I am one of those people who prefers Vaseline especially during the dry season. You know lotion makes one sweat and in some cases makes one get darker. However,I have used their facial scrub and so far so good, I think I'm in love.

I love the facial scrub too and that's what I use currently :D
DeletePls what can I use on my face when using the lotion since it's not good for face?
DeleteIt is darkening me
ReplyDeleteI bought d lotion few weeks back, nd am using it on my face as well, i discovered its peeling off som hard skin in my face, nd ve some pimples also i dnt knw why, i hop it works well on me.
ReplyDeleteHope it works out too but you shouldn't use body lotions on your face especially if you have oily skin. That can cause pimples
ReplyDeleteI'm dark in complexion, will play total effect work for me
ReplyDeleteIt was too harsh on my skin. It gave me white patches on my arm and dark knuckles on my feet. I feel it’s too strong for my skin since it’s for matured skin
DeleteIt was too harsh on my skin. I’m 21 years and I felt it’s strong for skin because it’s for matured skin or age
