Review: Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water for Combination and Sensitive Skin
I did a review for Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water some months back and even though I have used it to the last drop, I did complain that my skin felt sensitive when I initially used it. This only happened when I didn't have a lot of makeup on but with a full face, I didn't have this problem.
I was in Oxford recently, and found that there are new additions to range at Boots. I decided to get another bottle, this time a bigger size - 400ml. I remember I said I would mention if I found a retailer in Nigeria and I have indeed found one that sells the version I initially reviewed - 125ml with a pink cap. You can buy it here. So far that is the best price I have seen. Even with the current exchange rate, I believe it's sold too expensive in Nigeria compared to the original selling price. Hopefully I can stumble on another shop that sells Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water in Nigeria cheaper.
The one I purchased has a green cap and is formulated for people with combination and sensitive skin and promises to mattify the skin. I don't really need my makeup remover to mattify my skin because I usually take off my makeup at night time before going to bed but I don't think there's any harm in trying out this version.

After a couple of uses, I would say that it does get makeup off but contrary to the claims, it is too mild for removing eye makeup, especially waterproof mascara and long wearing foundation. I didn't really notice any special benefit for combination skin but as I said, I don't care for a makeup remover that makes the skin matte. Have you used any Micellar water yet? Really pleased that I read this post! I usually use the one with the pink cap and have just run out and was thinking of trying this one for a change.. However, if it is too mild to take off eye makeup too I definitely won't be picking up! I also agree that the original can make your skin feel a little sensitive if you don't have a full face of makeup :( x

DeleteI actually just got one (the one with the pink cap) yesterday and used it for the first time last night. So far so good. I wasn't wearing eye makeup yesterday so I can't really say anything about how well it removes eye make up. I'll just have to wait an see. But I didn't know the green cap was for combination and sensitive skin. I should have bought that instead. (Sorry about the essay. Ha)

Haha don't be Mirabelle, I appreciate it! I think the best thing would be to get an eye makeup remover to avoid rubbing the eye so much, that's what I've decided. Also I didn't really find the one for combination skin much different but I guess you can still try it next time.

DeleteI sell garnier products,i understand y one who shops abroad will feel it's a rip off to buy here, but we need to put into consideration a nos of tins.. The cost of ticket and visa, the cost of accommodation abroad,the cost of cargo(uk is 3.50£per kg n liquid is quite heavy) the cost of duty at d airport if u choose to bring in directly cos u are bringing in large quantity Nafdac, Customs, makes, d devalauation of our naira, d rent for d shop, the payment of utility bills, staff salary, double taxation depending on the state u are in and ofcourse ur profit..by d time u put all dis into consideration my sister u wld understand y a product dat shld sell for 1000naira wld sell for 3500, I advice clients who travel to buy enough for demselves till dey travel again but as for we business pple and entrepreneurs ee do not have a choice except u don't want to stay in biz for long cos u wld end up running at a loss or using ur personal money for biz expenses.most businesses dat have folded up especially in dis times off recession are ones dat have not done for calculations well.. It takes a lot of courage for any biz person to buy pounds dis Oct for 605 last year August was 380 and 2years ago was 270...notice d trend??? Hope Ya all have a beta understanding Now.. ReplyDeleteI understand you... honestly I wish some of these things were produced in Nigeria. The exchange rate is not funny at all. I just feel it's unfair to sell at more than double the cost price except like you said it's the only way to make profit after all the expenses. It's nice to hear a retailers perspective, thanks for commenting!
